Tampa Records was founded in 1955 by Robert Scherman. In 1956 David Axelrod was doing the promotions for Tampa Records. At the end of 1958 Scherman acquired the Mode label and attached it to Tampa. The last Tampa album was issued in 1958. After that Scherman started the Interlude label.
The listings of the label are very odd. Titles vary from front cover to back cover, to spine, to label. Sometimes leaders are named, sometimes not.

In this blog we want to make the series of Tampa records better known . We collect high quality covers and audio material. This all with a non profit intention just giving credit to the cover artists, the editors of the liner notes and last but not least the musicians.
